HUNDREDS of Pompey fans have been celebrating the club at the first fans day.

Taking place in the car park behind Fratton Park before the friendly match against Charlton Athletic, it also gave supporters the opportunity to have a look at the new away shirt which has been launched today.

The white shirt has a Pompey blue trim and a red collar and also includes a watermark of the famous Sports Mail sailor.

Tony Pollard, 59, from Forest Close in Waterlooville, said: ‘I thought it was really good and I especially like the watermark of the Sports Mail sailor on the front.’

Mr Pollard added that he felt the fans day was a good idea.

‘We’ve really enjoyed it, he said.

‘It’s been quite surprising how many people have turned up.

‘It’s a lovely day, nice bit of music. It’s been really good.

‘I think they should have this three or four times a season. It would be really good.

‘It gets all the youngsters here and it really makes a difference.’
