Mick Williams has today announced his resignation from the Pompey Supporters’ Trust (PST) board.

The Fareham businessman also relinquished his place as a member of the Blues’ seven-man board as a result.

I opted to resign on a matter of principle over a recent decision of the PST board.

The decision is a shock, with Williams an integral part of the successful fight to save the football club and subsequent running of it since coming out of administration almost two years ago.

In a statement, Williams said: ‘I opted to resign on a matter of principle over a recent decision of the PST board.

‘I am very proud to have played my part in that fight (to save the club) and to have been an active Pompey director for the last two years.

‘My family and I remain shareholders and staunch supporters of both the Trust and the club and we wish everybody connected with them the very best of luck in the future.’
