Pompey have been handed an injury boost ahead of the visit of Newport County.

The Blues are upbeat they will have some of their sidelined players back in contention against the Exiles.

Kyle Bennett (ankle) and Kal Naismith (hamstring) both missed out in the defeat to Stevenage last weekend.

They have progressed well, though, while Jack Whatmough is back in training after a hamstring problem.

Curtis Main is also training after a lengthy period out with a knee injury but is a distance from being in contention. Defender Christian Burgess is suspended.
