Enda Stevens admits Pompey are still attempting to find a way back to their opening-day heights.

The Blues registered a comprehensive 3-0 success over Dagenham & Redbridge back in August to start the new season in style at Fratton Park.

But it has been just one win – against Barnet – in the four League Two home fixtures since then.

While that does not exactly represent panic stations, especially with Pompey in the automatic promotion places, they could certainly improve on that record with victory against Yeovil today.

Blues left-back Stevens said: ‘It hasn’t quite clicked for us at Fratton Park.

‘We played excellently against Dagenham & Redbridge on the opening day and that is probably the best we have played at home.

‘Our away form is strong at the minute so that is helping us out and we have only lost one game in League Two this season.

‘So it’s nothing to get too worried about.

‘Obviously, you want to win every game but we’ve got to be realistic.

‘The gaffer has been saying that we have just got to be more patient and concentrate on keeping more clean sheets.

‘The fans will want to see us attack in every second of the game but it’s not going to happen like that.

‘It’s up to us to be able to stick to the game plan and not get caught up in things.’

The midweek defeat to Exeter saw Pompey knocked off top spot, but the Irishman is looking for the right response.

He added: ‘We worked so hard to get ourselves up there at the top of the league and it didn’t last long.

‘But we are not getting too down about it.

‘The Yeovil game is a perfect opportunity for us to get a win.’
