Carl Baker is weighing up a move to Pompey.
The Blues target is considering the offer of joining Paul Cook’s effort to get his side out of League Two.
The MK Dons attacking midfielder is being chased by Cook, who sees him as the next piece of his Fratton rebuilding process.
News of interest in Baker was revealed at portsmouth.co.uk earlier today.
But that sparked a day in which the 33-year-old intimated he would be keen on a move to former club Coventry.
Baker tonight ruled that out, however, as he stated he’s now considering his options.
Speaking on Twitter, he said: ‘Just to clarify I think MK (Dons) is a great club.
‘The gaffer, staff and fans have always been great with me and I have the utmost respect for them.
‘I also believe they have a great chance of being promoted next season.
‘As much as Coventry have been great to me, especially the fans who are great, it would have been nice but I can officially rule out a move back there.
‘I now need to sit down with my family and weigh up my options and make a decision I think is right for me and my family’s future. Hope this clears thing up.’
