Pompey face losing Cook

The Premier League have confirmed a transfer ban has been slapped on Pompey.

An embargo on registering players has currently been brought into force after the club failed to meet deadlines for money owed.

As part of existing transfer deals, Pompey are expected to pay scheduled instalments to the selling club.

However, more than one club has not been paid as agreed, forcing the Premier League to act.

This ban will be reviewed once the Premier League board have been told such outstanding monies have been paid.
