Harry Redknapp is the red-hot favourite to succeed Fabio Capello as England manager.
The former Pompey boss was today acquitted of tax avoidance charges at Southwark crown court.
Hours later Capello resigned as manager of the Three Lions after a disagreement with the Football Association over the removal of John Terry as skipper.
In the bookies’ eyes, that has cleared the way for Redknapp to succeed the Italian.
Some firms have gone as short as 2/7 on the two-time Pompey manager taking the reigns.
