Pompey’s longest-serving player who arrived from Bournemouth when Harry Redknapp landed him in the summer of 2002.

Hughes has picked up more than 150 appearances in his time at Fratton Park along with five caps for Scotland.

Most famously scored his only goal for the Blues as they sunk Liverpool 1-0 in the FA Cup in 2004 - until adding two more to his tally this season.

Grew up in Italy where he came through the ranks at Atalanta before Liam Brady took him to Arsenal as a teenager.
