Samantha Quayle added the second in the 74th minute to seal the win.

Captain Hillier was at her inspirational best for the Blues who will now meet Southampton Women in the final at Westleigh Park on Wednesday, March 15.

Sadler praised the skipper for her outstanding contribution.

He said: ‘Gemma is a great captain and a fantastic role model, we are lucky to have her at the club.

‘I look at her as our Steven Gerrard, she rejuvenates everyone and pushes everyone forward.

‘With the ball she is superb and without the ball, on and off the pitch, she is superb.

‘She challenges the youngsters and the youngsters challenge her as well.

‘Gemma has been very supportive to our coaching team. She is the kind of spearhead you need.’

Pompey Ladies will be back in FA Premier League southern division action when they go to Crystal Palace on Sunday, March 5.
