Pompey will receive a windfall of around £40,000 following Matt Ritchie’s switch to Bournemouth.

The midfielder last night clinched a £550,000 transfer from Swindon to the Cherries.

However, under terms of his sale to Swindon in January 2011 for an undisclosed fee, Pompey will receive a cut.

It is understood the Blues get 30 per cent of any profit Swindon made on Ritchie.

Talking into account agent fees being deducted, it is believed this will bring in the region of £40,000 into Pompey coffers.

Guy Whittingham’s side travel to Bournemouth on February 9.
