POMPEY’S former captain Sol Campbell has announced his retirement from the game.

The 38-year-old has been without a club since he parted company with Newcastle at the end of the 2011 season.

Campbell’s greatest achievement when at Fratton Park was winning the FA Cup with Pompey in 2008.

He made 95 appearances in a three year spell on the south coast.
