Jayden Stockley marked his return to action with a goal against his parent club as Pompey drew 3-3 with Bournemouth in a friendly.

With the decision taken to leave Jack Whatmough out to continue his recovery from injury, several first-team squad players got some useful minutes under their belts.

On-loan striker Stockley has been sidelined for several weeks with an ankle problem but netted a smart volleyed equaliser after the Cherries had gone 2-1 up at the Pompey training ground.

The Blues went ahead through an early own goal but then fell behind with goals either side of half-time as Sam Matthews and Tomas Andrade struck for the visitors.

Conor Chaplin scored a fine solo goal within two minutes of Stockley’s effort and Pompey looked on course for victory.

But Dominic Dower’s precise finish five minutes from time earned a draw.
