Pompey have agreed a deal with Stevenage for Patrick Agyemang to remain at Fratton Park.

The striker’s initial one-month loan deal ended yesterday and there were fears that the Blues would not be able to renegotiate with their fellow League One club.

But Pompey reached agreement this afternoon, paving the way for Agyemang to feature against Bury tomorrow.

The 32-year-old scored his first goal for the club in last week’s 2-1 win at Crewe, while caretaker boss Guy Whittingham has spoken of his desire to keep the forward at Fratton until the end of the season.

Whittingham said: ‘I can’t go into details but we’ve reached agreement with Stevenage.

‘I’m delighted to be able to keep hold of Patrick.’
