Pompey toiled to a third successive goalless draw with yet another dismal Fratton Park performance, as they ground out a 0-0 stalemate with Burton Albion.
The Blues, once again, failed to find anything like the required level of quality in the final third, with precious few opportunities created in a turgid 90 minutes.
Burton looked the better side in the first half and enjoyed more of the possession without seriously troubling Trevor Carson too many times.
But it was another poor first 45 minutes from Richie Barker’s troops as they failed to impose themselves on the game – failing to trouble Rob Lainton in the Burton goal.
Pompey improved after the break with more attacking impetus, but still without creating much of a threat.
The Blues might have nicked it when Patrick Agyemang struck the inside of the post from close range, but there was very little else for a crowd of more than 12,000 to get excited about.
The one positive to take is that it is another point closer to League Two safety.
