We began the day by gearing up for Pompey’s trip to Newport County by looking back at Paul Cook’s pre-match press conference and gave fans some travel tips in our Away-Day Guide.

Gaffer For A Day Rob Deacon had his say on the game – as did South Wales Argus writer and Exiles expert Andrew Penman in the Insider.

Blues boss Cook challenged Kal Naismith to take his chance in the absence of the suspended Gareth Evans.

Pompey then edged to a 1-0 triumph over County, courtesy of a Matt Tubbs strike in first-half stoppage time.

Cook expressed his disappointment at the performance, although he was one again happy to bag another three points on the road.

We then had a look back at the match in our Pompey slideshow.

Alongside the match-day action, was the latest Allen’s Insight feature – which focused on one of the finest players to wear the star & crescent, Robert Prosinecki.

Away from Pompey, Gosport Borough and the Hawks both lost home fixtures in National League South.
