FORMER Pompey owner Milan Mandaric bid an emotional farewell to Sheffield Wednesday fans at Hillsborough, as he prepares to stand down.
Mandaric - who left Fratton Park in 2006 - took to the pitch to deliver an emotional speech before Wednesday’s clash with Cardiff City.
The outgoing chairman is to step down having sold the club to Thai businessman Dejphon Chansiri, bringing an end to his four-year spell in charge.
In his speech, Mandaric stated his love for Sheffield Wednesday, and said he hopes fans give the new owner the same level of support he received during his time at the helm.
Before taking on Wednesday, Mandaric had run Leicester City after selling Pompey to Alexandre Gaydamak in 2006.
Since his arrival at Hillsborough, Wednesday have gained promotion from League One and now sit in a comfortable position in the Championship.
