Michael Appleton kicks off his Pompey reign at Watford on Saturday.

The new boss has joined forces with coaches Guy Whittingham and Stuart Gray and the Blues head to Vicarage Road in search of victory.

Appleton is keen to deliver exciting football and this promises to be the perfect game to set the tone for his tenure, especially with his new squad determined to impress.

But the Hornets will be no pushovers.

They have amassed 10 points from their past six league meetings, with former Pompey loanees Jonathan Hogg and Carl Dickinson proving to be key men.

No doubt they will be keen to prove their quality to the Pompey fans.

So what are your thoughts on the game? Will Appleton stick to the tactics that served Whittingham and Gray so well? Maybe he’ll change tack and recall a fringe player or two.
