Guy Whittingham has saluted the ‘fantastic’ progress of the Pompey rebuilding after recruiting player number 10.
John Sullivan took the summer tally into double figures when he yesterday penned a two-year deal.
He joins Joe Devera, Tom Craddock, Sonny Bradley, Danny East and Romain Padovani in arriving at Fratton Park.
In addition, Dan Butler, Patrick Agyemang, Phil Smith and Yassin Moutaouakil have penned new deals.
It continues to be a hectic time for the Blues boss, who is strengthening his squad at breakneck speed.
And Whittingham has promised more signings are on the way as his team for League Two begins to take shape.
He said: ‘I am really happy with how things are going.
‘I think we have made fantastic progress and we will keep looking to add to that as well.
‘I have already said 18 first-team players is our target and we are well on the way to getting that – and so early in the summer.
‘We are extremely pleased with what we are doing on the player front.
‘We ended the season with three players and they were young kids at that.
‘So we had to act quickly – and we knew that.
‘The supporters can see we are doing everything we can and working hard to bring in the right players for this football club.
‘We have three strikers at the moment so need another one.
‘The centre of midfield we are looking to bolster as well, so there are other areas.
‘There are one or two players we are not going to get, you have to accept that and move on.
‘But we have managed to get players who are eager to come here and try to help us progress.’
