Guy Whittingham doesn’t expect any further transfer business before Pompey return for pre-season training next week.

Ricky Holmes became the club’s 14th summer signing yesterday and the Blues boss feels any further business will come from triallists or loans.

He said: ‘I wouldn’t think there will be any more before the players come back. Now Ricky’s done we’ll go into pre-season with the squad as it is.

‘There will be triallists and players on loan who we will keep an eye on.’

Whittingham was delighted to finally land Holmes.

He said: ‘It’s great to have him. He was one of the first we looked at.

‘Steve Allen has done his homework with the injury and we’re confident about it. He’ll create chances and offer versatility.’
