Pompey Ladies turned on the style to crush Keynsham 6-0 in the FA Women’s Premier League southern division.

Striker Charley Wilson led the way with two goals, while Gemma Hillier, Molly Clark, Lucy Quinn and Shannon Sievwright were also on the mark.

It was a third successive clean sheet for the Blues and a fourth win on the bounce.

Keynsham have now lost all four of their league games this season and could be set for a battle to stay in the division.

But Pompey were certainly not taking the opposition lightly.

Manager Perry Northeast felt it was a strong performance.

He said: ‘We did a professional job for 90 minutes.

‘We had a few different scorers and another clean sheet.

‘Our aim is to push on and do well in the league, while Keynsham are maybe a side looking to stay in the division.

‘We knew if we played to our ability a win was on the cards.

‘At half-time we were 2-0 up but we spoke more about the negatives than the positives.

‘That shows the character of the side.’

It took the hosts just four minutes to grab the lead.

Midfielder Chloe Dark lobbed the ball over two Kenysham defenders to set Hillier away, and she took the ball around keeper Elena Pasare to slide it home.

The visitors from Bristol were struggling to get into the game and it was no surprise when Pompey doubled the lead.

Striker Wilson raced onto a through pass and fired the ball past the keeper at the near post.

Hillier was denied a second goal by the offside flag, but Pompey looked in total command heading into the break.

Northeast decided to make a change after 53 minutes.

Sievwright replaced Dark and quickly made a big impact.

Her shot was saved by Pasare.

But Clark was in the right place to rifle the loose ball home.

Quinn continued her exceptional form with the fourth goal for the Blues.

She cracked a first-time shot high into the net.

Pompey then made it five on 35 minutes.

Quinn crossed and Sievwright was unmarked to net her first ever goal for the senior team.

The final goal arrived nine minutes from time.

Eilidh Currie split the Keynsham defence with a clever pass.

Wilson took the ball in her stride, composed herself and neatly found the back of the net to complete the scoring in style.
