Calling all young footballers...

You’ve seen Jed Wallace and Matt Tubbs weave their magic there.

You’ve witnessed Paul Robinson and Jack Whatmough produce sliding tackles in front of the Fratton End.

And what about Danny Hollands’ goalscoring exploits that aided Pompey’s battle against relegation last season.

You’ll also have heard your mum or dad talking about Robert Prosinecki taking to the hallowed surface and turning opponents inside out.

And then there’s Pedro Mendes sparking the Great Escape on that famous pitch in 2006 and sending everybody wild.

There’s also Alan Knight, Paul Walsh, Ron Saunders, Kanu and all the other greats who went about their business there every other week.

And the same goes for Jimmy Dickinson, Jack Froggatt, Len Phillips – players that your granddad or great granddad would have seen play – and the double title-winning legends of the 40s and 50s.

Yes, Fratton Park echoes with the memories of the greats who gave every Pompey fan such joy.

Now you can follow in the footsteps of those heroes and legends and tread the very same turf.

We’ve teamed up with Pompey to offer you a never-to-be-forgotten chance to play in a specially-arranged game on the Fratton Park pitch.

Play@Pompey will give young supporters the opportunity to feature in one of two matches to take place before and at half-time in the clash with Plymouth Argyle on Monday, April 6.

That means those lucky enough to win our competition will really get to feel what it’s like to be playing on a Fratton match day.

Imagine being the match-winner for your side as you fire in the decisive goal in front of the Fratton End?

What would it feel like to take the acclaim of the Pompey faithful after delivering a man-of-the-match performance?

Now you really can find out, thanks to the Sports Mail.

To be eligible for our competition, you have to play for a youth team that contests matches at any age group from nine to 12 level or from 13 to 16.

You can be part of any organisation to able to enter, whether that’s a school team, football club, scouts or any other outfit.

And to emerge victorious you and your team-mates have to collect the tokens which we are printing from today in the Sports Mail.

The two teams in each age category who collect and submit the most tokens by the deadline on Friday, March 20 win. Simple.

There’s no limit to the amount of Sports Mails you can buy each week, either, but photocopies aren’t allowed.

And the Sports Mail are continuing to support your football club, too.

We already donate 10p from every copy sold to Pompey – but we’ll match that with another 10p for every token collected from our four winning teams.

So get started by picking up your Sports Mail this tea-time and going straight to page eight.

It’s time to get collecting those tokens – and you could soon be making your Pompey dreams come true.
