ATTENTION all Pompey fans, Spot the Ball is back!

In today’s Sports Mail, the famous old competition returns – giving you the chance to win a pair of Pompey season tickets for the 2015-16 season.

That is sure to be great news for the nostalgic among you, as we go down memory lane to resurrect a regular feature from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.

But this is also a chance for a new generation of Blues to give it a shot as well and join in the fun.

What’s even better, though, is that this time it’s free to enter.

All you need to do is to purchase the next three additions of the Sports Mail – it’s as simple as that!

Those of you of a certain vintage need no reminding of the rules of the game.

But for the newbies among you, all you will have to do is to feast your eyes on the pictures provided – and use the wisdom inside you to guess exactly where the ball is.

Rather than marking a cross where you think the centre of the ball might be, we are asking you to select a square from the grid, for example; J,1.

There will be a new picture printed in the Sports Mail over the next three Saturdays (today, Saturday, July 18 and Saturday, July 25) – plus a reminder or two in The News during the week.

Once you have picked a square from each of the three photographs, all you need to do is fill in the coupon that will be printed on Saturday, July 25, and carefully note down your three grid coordinates.

Then all you have to do is cut out the coupon and send it to us at The News.

There will also be an opportunity to enter by text, too.

All the entry details will be printed on the third week of the competition.

In the event of an exact match in correctly guessing the three crucial coordinates, the winners will be chosen at random.

So it’s time to pick up your Sports Mail folks, young or old, and get guessing!

Note, no photocopies of the final coupons will be allowed.
