ALL GOOD things must come to an end.

That old English proverb now sadly applies to the Portsmouth Royal Dockyard League after the decision to bring the curtain down on 100 years of the competition was made earlier this month.

Established in 1913, the league hosted 60 clubs at the height of its popularity.

But it has been forced to close its doors following its centenary season because only five sides have registered team for the 2014-15 campaign.

We will pay tribute to the long-serving competition in the Sports Mail this Saturday.

And we are calling on former players, coaches, managers,
officials and spectators to share their abiding Dockyard League memories with us at the end of an era.

Please contact the sports desk by emailing sport@thenews.co.uk or, alternatively, calling (023) 9262 2120.
