Barbara Dimmer has been nominated for a prestigious sports award.

The Fareham School of Gymnastics (FSG) coach is one of five on the shortlist to win the award for most deserving sports hero – run by motors.co.uk

She needs public votes to help her lift the top prize.

The nomination comes from British Gymnastics, who recognised her work with their volunteer of the year award in 2013.

She’s now in contention for another well-earned prize.

Dimmer said: ‘If I were successful, I would use the award to further enhance FSG’s development.

‘Gymnastics for all is at the heart of everything I do and this nomination is the icing on the cake following the BG award in 2013.’

Voting for the prize closes tomorrow.

Other nominees are Jeff Moses (Barrow Amateur Boxing Club), Betty Codona (Sheffield Hatters Women’s Basketball Club), Andy Teagle (Solihull Triathlon Club) and Keith Huggins (Ashleworth Woodpeckers Youth Football Club).
