Star gymnasts and top coaches from across the country descended on Portsmouth for an elite training camp.

British all-around espoir champion Georgia Mae Fenton was among those who took part.

The Europa Club ace was joined by Rachel Fraser and Taeja James, from City of Birmingham, during the three-day camp hosted by Portsmouth Gymnastics Centre (PGC) at their fantastic Alex Way gym.

PGC coach Tina Field was delighted with the success of the camp.

She said: ‘Working with different coaches is very useful for the team.

‘The gymnasts found it very motivating and have been pushing themselves to learn new skills off the back of having such a high calibre of gymnasts attend the camp.

‘We do run into setbacks like needing extra funding and finding accommodation for coaches and gymnasts.

‘But thanks to the parents and fundraising teams this camp went extremely well.

‘We will definitely be doing another camp in the future.’

PGC are looking for sponsors. For more details, telephone (023) 9266 0589.
