Fareham Ladies recorded their first-ever win against Southampton Ladies.

The 4-1 triumph was the first in the club’s 26-year history and moves them into sixth place in south division 3B.

Fareham’s first goal came from Jo Madeley in the fourth minute but that was cancelled out by Southampton’s Ellie Stephens 13 minutes later.

Hannah Oldham’s smart finish from the top of the D put Fareham back in the lead just before half-time and they never looked back.

Soon after the restart, they established a two-goal advantage when a fierce strike from Hannah Nicholls was deflected into the bottom left-hand corner by Bex Close.

The fourth goal came from a great run along the base line by Emma Jones, who then smashed the ball into the far corner from a tight angle across the goalkeeper.

In division three, Fareham II beat City of Portsmouth 2-1, but the third XI were edged out 4-3 in their derby against Havant.
