After falling behind to the visitors, Nicola Atkins levelled the scores from close range before half-time.

Havant had not tasted league success since they recorded a 3-1 home win over Teddington in March 2015.

Bringing a halt to that barren run lifted them to seventh in division two.

And the boost in confidence helped them edge to a 1-0 victory over West Hampstead in round one of the National Trophy 24 hours later.

Cat Evans scored the only goal of a tight encounter when she turned in a cross from Laura Howe early in the second half.

Havant return to league action with a trip to Banbury on Saturday.
