Fareham have been boosted by a new signing ahead of their match against Cheltenham tomorrow.

Forward Mo Rahman joined this week from Guildford and will go straight into the team for the National League conference west match at Henry Cort (5pm).

Performance director Ben Barnes said: ‘He has a great deal of skill and has got very quick hands.

‘The way he can create things in the final third can unlock a few doors.’

Fareham will be looking for their first win of the campaign when they host Cheltenham, who lie fifth in the table with two wins from four games.

Rob Moore returns to the team after being unavailable last weekend, but Jon Price has failed to recover from the hamstring injury he sustained in the warm-up against Cardiff.

John Grice comes in as his replacement but Ed Carson is unable to play.

Barnes feels his side are close to getting their maiden victory of the season.

He said: ‘At the start of the season we knew the first four games were going to be tough but we are getting in to a run of very winnable games.

‘In the last two games we are really starting to pull together as a group.

‘I don’t think it will be too long before our first win and we can start to turn the corner.’

Elsewhere, Fareham Ladies take on Trojans 2s at home in South Clubs’ Women’s League division three B (1.15pm).

They will be looking to put behind last week’s disastrous spell when they conceded five goals in 15 minutes in a 7-3 defeat to East Grinstead 2s.

Havant Men are looking to continue their strong start to the season when they travel to Staines tomorrow (1pm).

Ady Adams’ side opened their South League premier division one season with a solid 6-2 win over Old Cranleighans.

Staines go into the game on the back of a heavy 9-0 defeat against Old Georgians and Havant will be looking for a similar scoreline.

Havant Ladies will be looking to open their account, after three straight defeats, with a match against Southgate in South Clubs’ Women’s League division one.

Push-back at Havant College is at 1.30pm.
