Portsmouth Black went top of Portsmouth & District League division one after a double delight.
They claimed two vital victories – over rivals Generation Aces and reigning champions Portsmouth Purple.
Black’s clash with Aces was a 7-3 thriller.
Adam Fuzes grabbed a treble and was ably supported by James Mason, who notched a double after narrowly beating Charlie Childs in pulsating four sets.
Tim Farmer added the other score, while Vincent Cheung, 13, played a blinder for Aces with two wins.
In Black’s game with Purple, they romped home 8-2 with Fuzes and Mason unbeaten on the night.
Aces then swept Knowle Tenacity aside 10-0 with Mike Rhodes, Letitia McMullan and Cheung all on form.
Elsewhere, Navy drew with Soberton A thanks to superb hat-trick from Mike Gibbs.
He was assisted by Callum Ship’s pair.
Generation Jacks got a welcome 7-3 win at the expense of Sporting St Clare’s.
Andy Stagg supplied three wins, while Tim Hampton responded by beating Lee Mullett and Will George.
Sporting also suffered a 7-3 loss to Cowplain Cocktails as Roger Winkworth took a maximum and Steve Waters grabbed a double.
Knowle Rovers went top of division two after winning 7-3 at club-mates Knowle Green.
Trevor Farrow scored a hat-trick with Alan Baldwin supplying two and Graham Taylor the other.
Cowplain Blue beat Cowplain Alexandra 6-4 with a treble by Trevor Emery.
Knowle Green are mid-table after defeating Avenue Dodos 7-3 with three wins apiece for Dave Edge and John Wildig.
NPJS Purple beat Phoenix Satellites 7-3.
In division three, Sonny Brookes’ hat-trick inspired Portsmouth Crimson to a 6-4 win over Lovedean.
PW Red crushed Nuffield 9-1 with hat-tricks for Phil Beal and Colin Miller.
Sporting St Clare’s Swifts drew at Knowle Valiant thanks to a treble by Rob Lewis.
