The British Formula One Sidecar Championship is back after a seven-week break and the AOS/BeWiser team will be raring to go.

Portsmouth driver Stevens and his Dover-based passenger Charlwood hold a 72.5 point advantage over their nearest rivals ahead of the next round at the 2.8-mile TT circuit in Assen Holland.

They have won seven of the last eight races, including a fantastic triple at the last round at Thruxton with two lap records along the way.

In April they also won the first round of the World Championship round at Donington Park.

With three rounds remaining the team now have the title in their sights.

Team owners Stuart Wakley and Wayne Stevens brought in a team manager in the form of Paul Knapton a highly experienced sidecar passenger, who ensures the smooth running of the team.

The Kawasaki powered 1000cc machine is the same sidecar which was being used last season but the machine has been improved with new parts.

New mechanic Phil Atkin overseas the meticulous preparations of the sidecar.

The team has a partnership with a British superbike team with riders Chris Walker and Danny Buchan.

Both teams use Kawasaki powered machines and have the same livered machines and team clothing.

Over the weekend they eat in the same hospitality area, mixing with the riders and team members and guests.

The success has rubbed off on the superbike team as Danny Buchan rode to two great podiums at Oulton Park two weeks’ ago.

The whole team is now hoping for another successful weekend in Holland.
