Allan signs on for another month

Pompey midfielder Scott Allan

Pompey midfielder Scott Allan

Scott Allan has extended his Pompey stay.

As revealed in The News last week, the West Brom midfielder has continued his loan for a further month, which now covers the busy Christmas period, after his initial loan period expired following last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Coventry.

Caretaker-boss Guy Whittingham revealed the Scot told him he was keen to stay last week, and the deal has now been confirmed with all parties having reached agreement.

Allan, who impressed on loan at Fratton Park last season, was drafted in by former boss Michael Appleton but was then sent off in his second game, resulting in a three-match ban.

He returned from suspension with a goal in Pompey’s 3-2 defeat against Leyton Orient, before being substituted at half-time in Saturday’s game at Coventry.

But with Pompey without a game this weekend, he is now available for the trip to Tranmere next week.
