Awfs back to plot youth win

Andy Awford

Andy Awford

Andy Awford will be back on Academy duty tonight for their FA Youth Cup second-round match.

Having helped out Guy Whittingham in the first-team fixture at Bury, the 40-year-old will be overseeing the youngsters against Woking at Fratton Park (7.30pm).

Awford said: ‘I’m going to take the team with Paul Hardyman tonight as I feel it’s important to give the lads continuity for this game.

‘I am able to do it and it’s what the lads are used to.

‘After that I will step aside a bit and let Paul run things while I help Guy with the first team.

‘We’re all tucking in and getting on with it at the moment. The whole of the backroom staff are doing their bit, we are in it together.’

Seats are priced £3 for adults and £1 for under-17s.

Meanwhile, Adam Webster is pushing to feature for England under-19s against Finland at AFC Telford tonight (7.30pm).

The Pompey defender won a call-up after making his under-18s bow against Italy last month.
