Appy calls on fans to Pack the Park

Michael Appleton has called on Pompey fans to show their class and pack Fratton Park tomorrow.
The Blues take on Hull City in a Championship clash they have pinpointed to help boost the club’s coffers in a time of financial crisis.
The News has joined forces with Pompey and the Pompey Supporters’ Trust to call on fans to Pack the Park and fill the ground to capacity.
And Appleton is certain the ‘fantastic’ fans will not let the club down.
‘I’m hoping we get somewhere near a full house,’ said the Pompey boss.
‘We’ve been working hard as a club to get as many people as possible through the gates.
‘Our fans are fantastic and it would be great to see Fratton Park full up with a brilliant atmosphere.
‘If ever there is a time we need our 12th man, it’s now.
‘I’m sure they won’t let us down. They never do.’

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 02:06 PMI too paid for three expensive season tickets last summer, we will be there as always, even though our seats cost nearly twice what day visitors pay. PUP lets fill the ground with noise and bodies.

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 12:52 PMpost 14, I see that, but I still reckon it would have been a wise move by PFC to have made those extra s seats available, even if they werent sold. it would have been a gesture of good faith by the club, that they were indeed taking notice of the fans "Pack the Park"initiative. The fact that, even though quite a few people suggested it last week, or even earlier, surely gave the club notice that such a thing was feasible, and the move to accommodate the fans would have been appreciated by the fans, even if they were not able to take full advantage of the offer........ it would have shown that there was at least SOME interest at the club, in the efforts of the fans, and was potentially a good money-spinning idea....... the fact that the club just said and did nothing to even acknowledge such an idea is what makes me annoyed.......

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 12:37 PMblueshirt-- We have NOT sold our allocation yet, still 3500 left! If we sell out yes that makes sense but I don't think we will.

Friday, February 3, 2012 at 12:31 PMI wonder if anyone in any position of authority at Fratton park,(asking a lot right now, I know!!) could explain to me why, given that Hull have sold a mere 500 tickets for tomorrow's game, why some at least of the 1500 vacant Milton end seats could not have been made available for Pompey fans? Wouldnt the income from selling these seats make the club a fair chunk of extra cash, even allowing for the cost of increased stewarding that end would require? Given the extraordinary circumstances and significance of tomorrow's game, I should think crowd segregation and security would not be a major problem, and can't imagine that in all seriousness, the police would have any major concerns or objections to Pompey fans sharing at least part of the Milton End with the away fans.......To me this just looks like another missed opportunity by Pompey Fc, and demonstrates again how poorly run and organised the club is......don't they actually WANT extra money.......?
