Cotterill hails Ventura fitness test
Steve Cotterill believes Pompey got a good workout under their belt as they continued their pre-season tour of North America.
Cotterill felt Ventura County Fusion gave his men a decent test at Oxnard College in stifling conditions.
Temperatures were in the high 80s as the Blues grabbed a 2-1 win.
Cotterill felt the 90 minutes provided a helpful test in building his team's fitness.
He said: 'It was another good runout for the lads.
'They were incredibly hot conditions, which were not easy to perform in.
'The scoreline could have been a lot different at the end, and not as
close as it seemed.
'We had a good few chances late on.
'It was a win, though, and another step along the way with their fitness.'
