Davis didn't feel wanted at Pompey

Sean Davis launched a fierce tirade at Pompey and insisted: You didn't appreciate me.

Davis believes the Blues passed up the chance to keep him at Fratton Park.

The midfielder reckons there was a lack of support for him in the club's boardroom.

And that is what forced him to leave Pompey to move to Bolton.

Davis was unveiled at the Reebok this week after he became a free agent, where he will link up again with former Fratton team-mates Matt Taylor and Andy O'Brien.

The 29-year-old thinks he could have been wearing a blue shirt next season if Pompey had taken steps to keep him.

Davis thanked the fans for their backing in his three years at the club.

But he didn't feel that support was matched in all areas.

Davis said: 'I was sad to leave Portsmouth. I enjoyed my football there and the fans were great to me.

'But I didn't feel appreciated enough upstairs in the boardroom.

'My contract could have been sorted a long time ago and I could still be a Portsmouth player. We have been talking for 18 months.

'Bolton showed an interest in me and after that there was only one decision to make.

'The deal could have been sorted in January. Tony Adams offered me a deal but they kept mucking me about with little things and we couldn't agree on it.

'The contract ran out and I didn't hear from anyone so I decided to go somewhere where I was appreciated.

'I'm not talking about the fans. They were always behind me. The fans and the atmosphere at Fratton Park was always fantastic.

'Now I just want to move on and make a fresh start.'
