Grant hopes for another memorable match
Avram Grant shrugged off Liverpool's worries as he told Rafa Benitez: You've got it easy.
The Pompey boss takes his beleaguered troops to Anfield tonight as the Blues chase a victory at the home of the Merseyside giants for the first time in 59 years.
A 2-0 win way back in August 1951 was the last time Pompey managed a league victory at Anfield in the old division one.
But Grant has an unblemished record against the Spaniard with three wins and two draws in the five meetings between the two managers.
Of course, most of Grant's impressive record was chalked up at Chelsea although he did add a memorable 2-0 win over Liverpool back in December as Pompey turned in one of their best displays of the campaign.
But while the heat is turned up on Benitez, whose Liverpool side are struggling to make the top four of the Premier League and have already been knocked out of the Champions League and FA Cup, Grant admitted that he would love to have the supposed problems facing his counterpart.
Grant said: 'I hope I had the problems that Liverpool have!
'Nobody is thinking about the future of Liverpool, even though there are problems.
'Here we are fighting for the future of the club.
'Liverpool have their problems and sometimes the big clubs have problems when they dont get good results.
'But I would suggest that everybody at Liverpool is patient because they have a good team.'
Grant has enjoyed his meetings with Liverpool during his time in English football as he steered Chelsea to the Champions League final with a semi-final success after a 1-1 draw at Anfield and a 3-2 win at Stamford Bridge in the return leg.
He recalled: 'In the semi-final of the Champions League, it was a major competition. I will always remember these days.
'It was very good for me personally and for the club but I also have good memories about the last time we played Liverpool here.
'We won 2-0, it was a great game and we were very happy.
'At that time, we thought we were going for a new way and then two days later, we got news that we didn't like about the future of the club.
'I hope I will have one more good memory.
'They are a very good team, they have good players and a very good manager.
'We know that they are a better team than us. We did it well last time to beat them, but it will be very difficult to do it twice to Liverpool but we will try.'
