Grant pleads for Premier League answers
Avram Grant told the Premier League: Tell us what's happening.
The Pompey boss admitted the uncertainty surrounding the club is getting to his players after last night's 2-1 defeat to Birmingham.
Grant has met with administrator Andrew Andronikou as he prepares to wield the axe at Fratton Park today.
They have held talks about what lies ahead for the club in the wake of being placed into administration.
It appears inevitable Pompey will lose nine points as a result of that, if the process continues.
But Grant believes the club are in limbo until they know what their fate is.
The 54-year-old insists the Premier League are compromising the integrity of the English game by condemning the Blues.
He said: 'I think we always want to win, but when we always hear about nine points we know we cannot do nothing about this situation.
'We tell the players that the Premier League haven't taken the points from us yet.
'But when you come to the pitch it will have an effect, though. We want to win, but it's not easy for us.
'With our circumstances ,Saturday was a lot more important than this game.
'I still believe, though, that it has to be decided on the pitch. We will see how they deal with this.
'We can still do it, but we need to know for sure what will happen.
'We can't read every day that we are nine points down because this affects our players. They are trying to do everything.
'I think there is one decision. I respect the rules and need to do this.
'But I say it's not good for the Premier League that the decision is
decided off the pitch.
'The victims are the people who have not done anything.'
Andronikou is scheduled to hold a press conference this evening outlining his plans after having a chance to survey the landscape at Pompey.
Loyal staff were expected to find out what their futures hold, with talk rife chief executive Peter Storrie, who was at last night's game, will be one of those people on their way.
Grant confessed Andronikou has some difficult decisions to make.
He said: 'I have spoken with the administrator. He is trying to do his best for the club. He's not in a good situation.
'Everyone knows there are problems financially, if not the exact details.
'There are many, many problems and he has a hard job but I hope everything will be okay.
'This club needs to be a proper club.
'He is checking the situation with a lot of problems.
'I don't know so much but he is trying to understand the problems and find a solution.
'Any solution isn't going to be easy, unfortunately. We need to wait and see now.'
