Hermann: Fight is not over
Hermann Hreidarsson focused on Pompey's return to Premier League action and insisted: We're not giving up.
Avram Grant's side entertain Birmingham tonight for the second time in just over 72 hours.
The Blues have yet to have their nine points taken off them after going into administration.
That means a win tonight will see them move to within two points of top-flight safety.
Hreidarsson promised the team was still focused on delivering success in the league.
He said: 'There have been some negative vibes throughout the season, but when you get over the white line you would like to think that you can focus on playing football.
'That's what we've done in the past few games.
'I'm realistic. It's going to be a very tough job, but while there's a possibility we will give it a go.
'We will take it one game at a time and see where it takes us. We have to keep going. We definitely have something to play for.
'It would be nice if they didn't take those nine points from us.'
Hreidarsson spoke of his pain at the impending job losses which look set to sweep through the club.
He said: 'All we can hope is that the administrator will be nice, will try to see it through and will not be sacking people left, right and centre.
'It's so sad that some people will be losing their jobs.
'It's been frustrating when we didn't know what was going on. We didn't know who the owner was or what was going on.
'Of course the situation makes you angry, but there are a few clubs every year that this happens to and it makes you wonder who is running these clubs.
'How does it always end like this? Where it all went wrong, I'm not sure.'
