Huseklepp will rue missed opportunites as Pompey are held on the road

A wonder free-kick from Stephen Crainey denied gutsy Pompey victory at Blackpool tonight.

Crainey’s 25 yarder cancelled out Erik Huseklepp’s opener as the Blues drew 1-1 at Bloomfield Road.

It could and perhaps should have been an against-the-odds victory for Michael Appleton’s battlers against the in-form side, though.

There were chances for the visitors to inflict a first defeat of 2012 on the Tangerines.

Huseklepp went clear after 29 minutes but was foiled by Matthew Gilks.

The Norwegian then opened the scoring just before the interval, but could have had a second six minutes after the restart.

Another chance went begging after 64 minutes, when he failed to get enough purchase on his shot after bursting through.

Blackpool then levelled with 14 minutes left as Crainey fired home after Greg Halford fouled Alex Baptiste.

That meant Pompey had to settle for a point - but that didn’t silence the Blues’ outstanding fans.

They were at their resilient best throughout and undertook a ‘protest Poznan’ in the second half.

The fans turned their back on play for two minutes and sung ‘Michael Appleton’s blue and white army’ in an effort to show unity and highlight the club’s woes in the Sky-televised clash.

Hmm. The usernames on here sometimes try to hide the true identity of posters. In the case of "Deliverance" I think he is a chap whose preference is for men wearing red and white striped shirts. The clue is in the moniker - isn''t Deliverance the name of the film about hillbillies with genetic defects annoying ordinary guys. Oh and Mr Deliverance what about the "squeal like a pig" scene? Why don't you pop off this site?

Lol Deliverence or is this Ramscum you have been on this all day I see several postings trying to wind up the forum. As I said on my previous post "We all know how it is, lets just enjoy the moment". Go on another forum as your same old boring message reminds me of Victor Meldrew. Some people in life are only happy when they got something to moan about or silly boy games to play. Nothing in life is achieved with a negative outlook thats a fact. Rosy glasses is having a healthy outlook in life not being sad sitting on here feeding off responses. Its still the weekend so I am off out to have a laugh with a good crowd down the local. No doubt your be at home just watching this forum hoping for a response so you can play your little game of mental chess. Why not take up tiddly winks instead that would be a more comfortable level for you.
