Jamo ready for the call
David James shrugged off the drama of the England World Cup squad announcement and insisted: It doesn't worry me.
The Pompey goalkeeper is expected to be named in boss Fabio Capello's provisional 30-man squad for the tournament in South Africa.
But while some have suggested the keeper's fitness is still a cause for concern, James insists he is back at full capacity again.
He said: 'There was a time around Christmas where I seriously questioned whether I would be fit enough for the rest of the season.
'But I feel fit again. I didn't miss the Everton game because of any injury.
'I'm confident that the England squad will go to South Africa and do well.
'If it's me, happy days but if it's someone else, then happy days for whoever that may be.
'Mr Capello will decide and we'll see, but it's no distraction to me ahead of the Cup final.'
James has had problems with a troublesome calf strain this season.
But he has also underlined his quality in recent weeks with consistent displays.
James said: 'It's been frustrating with injuries more than anything this season.
'The relegation issue is disappointing, but more so on a personal basis because I wasn't able to play in every game. Some of the defeats occurred without me and I wanted to be out there.'
