John Utaka
He finally joined Pompey from Rennes in the summer of 2007 for an undisclosed transfer fee - believed to be around £7m.
Fine individual goals against Bolton and Reading demonstrated just why he was nicknamed 'The Torpedo' during his career in France.
But although he has shown flashes of his huge talent, he has also struggled for consistency at times.
Usually deployed as a right winger, Utaka can also play as a central striker and is blessed with phenomenal pace to unsettle defenders.
He will always be remembered for setting up Kanu for the winning goal in the 2008 FA Cup Final to give Pompey a 1-0 victory over Cardiff.
Position: Striker, right-wing, left-wing
Former clubs: Enugu Rangers, Ismaily SC, Al-Sadd Sports Club, RC Lens, Stade Rennais
Date of birth: January 8, 1982
Height: 1.79m (5ft 10in)
