Lauren joined Pompey from Arsenal in the 2007 January transfer window.
Brought to Fratton as much as anything for his versatility, the Cameroon international has already appeared on the right of midfield, right-back and left-back.
Although currently out of the team, the part time boxer will no doubt be ready to take the field when called upon.
The 31-year-old will be hoping to challenge Glen Johnson this season for the right-back position as he aims to prove his worth to the squad and the fans.
