Magri lined up for Liverpool switch
Sam Magri will begin a one-week trial at Liverpool from Monday
Sam Magri is being lined up for a move to Liverpool.
The News can reveal that the promising defender will begin a one-week trial with the Merseyside giants from Monday after the Anfield club approached the Blues this week.
Magri will play for Liverpool reserves against Everton on Friday night. And if he impresses, negotiations will then take place between Liverpool and Pompey with a view to a permanent deal.
The 17-year-old, from Fratton, is regarded as one of Pompey’s most promising talents but has yet to be named in a match-day squad.
The life-long Pompey fan has played for England youth at a number of age levels and last summer skippered England under-17s to the quarter-finals of the Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Mexico.

Monday, February 20, 2012 at 06:46 AMwjd - Abiding memory of Frankie Burrows was the scenes at Northampton after we had secured promotion from the Fourth. Of course we were all on the pitch chanting for the team and Frank to appear in the stand. After a few minutes, Frank appeared to roars from the massive Pompey following - and then he promptly disappeared from view again. For the steely-faced Scot, it had appeared the occasion had finally cracked his hard exterior. Interviewed later on Radio Solent, he was asked if his disappearance was because there had been 'a hint of a tear in his eye'. He replied: "No. It was a hint of me remembering I had left my wallet unattended in the changing room." Always the Scot!

Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 11:20 PMFrom a few posts, I note there are guys of a similar 'Pompey Vintage' to myself . Just wanted to let them know that I was at the 'Pompey Hall of Fame' event at the weekend where Flewin, Piper, Biley and Claridge were inducted,Obviously Flewin is no longer with us, but Piper flew in from the US along with 20 representatives of the Pompey USA fan club, Biley and Claridge were also present. However, there was another special guest too, making a presentation..................Frank Burrows! He still has that amazing mexican style moustache! ....Legend!

Sunday, February 19, 2012 at 09:19 PM122 At least it's better than the Portaloo joke tht's been on this site motre than once. Remember that not all Pompey fans wished you the worst when you went through your turmoil. i 4 1 can rise above it but some others on here who were probably the ones that wanted you to suffer cannot. Just don't overdo it
