Nadir Belhadj

Attacking left-sided player who arrived on loan until the end of the season from Lens on transfer deadline day.

Harry Redknapp made his move for the Algerian international after he was recommended to him by club chief-scout Ian Broomfield.

Belhadj is equally happy operating as a left-back or wing-back, and loves to use a nifty turn of pace to bomb forward at every opportunity.

Came to attention with French second division sides Sedan and Gueugnon, befoe big-guns Lyon stumped up 2.6m for his services in 2006.

He made just nine appearances there, with Italian international Fabio Grosso keeping him out of the team.

He moved to Lens in January for 3m before coming to Fratton Park.
