Niko Kranjcar
Gifted Croatia midfielder Niko Kranjcar signed for Pompey for an undisclosed fee - believed to be in the region of £3.5m - in August 2006.
After taking time to settle in English football in his first season, the skilful Croatian international showed his class and became a first-team regular in the 2007/08 campaign, usually playing on the left flank.
Niko has been labelled as the 'next Prosinecki' and it's easy to see why with his top-class passing.
With a deft first touch and great vision, dead-ball specialist Kranjcar is often seen as the key to unlocking some of the Premier League's tightest defences.
Like Diarra, there have been a host of clubs interested in the Croat but Pompey insist that they want to keep the 24-year-old.
Kranjcar has also expressed his desire to remain at Pompey for the time being, but hasn't ruled out a move to a top-four club in the future.
