Nugent admits: It was handball
DAVID NUGENT told Burnley he handled the ball before he sent them out of the Carling Cup.
Nugent's 69th-minute winner at Turf Moor last night was shrouded in controversy.
The home fans and players were furious referee Mark Clattenburg gave the goal.
They claimed Nugent handled when controlling a pass before beating Gabor Kiraly.
And the striker told Burnley defender Steve Jordan that was the case.
Clarets boss Steve Cotterill believes it could have been an attempt from the 6m summer signing to rattle his opponent.
He said: 'David Nugent said to Steve Jordan that he handballed it.
'But he could have been saying it to wind him up. We'll have to take it with a pinch of salt.
'I don't know if he did or not. The linesman is the closest one to it.'
