Peter Crouch
Peter Crouch arrived at Pompey for the second time from Liverpool in the summer of 2008.
Pompey first signed him before the start of the 2001/02 season, which saw him subsequently notch 19 goals in 39 appearances.
This fine goalscoring form got him noticed by many Premier League clubs and the following summer he secured a 5m move to Aston Villa.
Unfortunately, the big man was unable to make an impression and was soon sold to arch-rivals Southampton.
The England international found his form on the south coast and ended the 2004/05 season with 16 goals in 33 appearances. This was not enough to keep Southampton in the Premier League and as a result moved to Liverpool in a 7m switch.
The 27-year-old became frustrated with the lack of first-team-opportunities under Liverpool manager Benitez last season and headed back tot he south coast.
Pompey fans can now look forward to seeing the exciting partnership of Crouch and Jermain Defoe, who have both played together at international level.
