Pompey 1 West Ham 4

A second-half collapse saw Pompey routed at home by West Ham.

There was no festive cheer for Tony Adams' men as they were thumped 4-1 by the Hammers.

It was kamikaze stuff from the Blues as they again sacrificed a lead after Nadir Belhadj had put them in front after eight minutes.

Jack Collison equalised for the Londoners 12 minutes later and the visitors then blew Pompey away in the second-half.

Carlton Cole started a spell of three goals in 16 minutes, tapping in after Collison had hit the post.

It was Craig Bellamy who was the chief tormentor though, grabbing a double and run Pompey ragged.

Plenty of chances were passed up by the home side and Jermain Defoe will rue missing a first-half penalty after a foul on Peter Crouch.

The defeat means Pompey have lost their last three Premier League outings – with the small matter of Arsenal up next at the Emirates on Sunday.
