Pompey land French starlet

Pompey have completed the signing of promising French youngster Gael N'Lundulu.

The highly-rated 16-year-old Paris St Germain forward has been tempted to Fratton Park after turning down a trainee contract at the French outfit.

And chief executive Peter Storrie believes it is another sign that Academy director Paul Hart and his team are now recruiting top-quality young players from across Europe.

Storrie said: 'Paul Hart has done a fantastic job in the Academy – they've had a great first season.

'We've signed some good young players – some are only 16 or 17 so they are a couple of years away from coming through.

'But we have some players in there now who are very promising and we are very hopeful that they have a got a real chance.'

N'Lundulu said: 'The offer from Portsmouth was very interesting.

'If PSG had really wanted to keep me, I would have stayed.'
