Wycombe extend Pack loan deal
Pompey starlet Marlon Pack has had his loan extended by Wycombe for another month.
The 18-year-old was sent to Adams Park last month in a bid to rack up some precious first-team experience.
The Buckland midfielder made his debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy early last month in a 2-2 draw with Northampton before losing on penalties.
Since then he has featured in six matches, including every minute of their last five League One games.
Now Pack will stay there for another month after impressing manager Peter Taylor.
The former City of Portsmouth Boys pupil worked his way through the Pompey ranks to earn a one-year professional contract this summer.
He becomes the latest local talent to emerge from the Academy production line.
Gosport's Matt Ritchie and Emsworth's Joel Ward both impressed while on loan to Dagenham & Redbridge and Bournemouth respectively last term.
This season a hernia operation has held Ward back, restricting him to just one reserve-team appearance so far.
However, the 19-year-old defender made his first-team debut in the Carling Cup success over Hereford in August.
Meanwhile, Ritchie has been playing regularly for Notts County during a loan spell until January.
The left-sided midfielder has featured in the League Two side's last six games, starting five of them as they push for promotion.
Ritchie also scored twice in the 5-2 demolition of Northampton, while played in the Morecombe match which saw Sol Campbell make his sole appearance.
County are currently sixth in the table, sitting in a play-off spot.
Another Pompey starlet who recently went out on loan was Tom Kilbey.
The midfielder was scheduled to spend a month with Dagenham & Redbridge, but returned early after failing to break into their side.
He did, however, start against the MK Dons in a 3-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat last month.
